A man has been jailed in connection with thefts from a TK Maxx store in Evesham.

Matthew Scramm, aged 44 of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison at Kidderminster Magistrates court yesterday (9 October) after he pled guilty.

The offences relate to thefts of clothes and handbags from TK Maxx in Evesham on seven occasions between June and September this year.

Schramm was arrested on Tuesday (7 October) by Pershore and Evesham officers, and subsequently charged to appear in court.

Sergeant Duncan Eades said “We hope this sentence sends a clear message, deterring other shoplifters and showing that they will be swiftly brought to justice.

“Schramm was a prolific shoplifter who has been given a custodial sentence within two days of his arrest.”
