West Mercia Police say they're treating as unexplained the death of a man in a house boat fire on Christmas Day.

The boat was moored by the Anchor Inn on the River Avon in Wyre Piddle in Worcestershire on Christmas morning. Emergency crews were called at about 7:30am.

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed the man's death and said an investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing.

Early indications are that the death of the man, in his 30s, is not suspicious.
