Man charged after intercepted drone incursion at HMP Long Lartin

Joshua Morris faces drug possession and prison contraband charges

A man has been charged after a drone incursion at HMP Long Lartin led to the interception of a contraband package on 4th January.

Joshua Morris, 32, who has no fixed address, has been charged with several offences.

These include possession of Class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine), conveying a prohibited article into a prison, and attempting to convey another prohibited article into a prison.

He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on 9th January.

This case follows increased attention on drone-related smuggling attempts into UK prisons, where prohibited items such as drugs are being delivered using technology.
