A 34-year-old man has been arrested in Droitwich on suspicion of cannabis production.

The arrest followed a drugs warrant executed by officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team and Task Force this morning (1st April).

Police entered a property on Victoria Square, where approximately 200 cannabis plants were discovered.

A 34-year-old man was found inside and arrested.

He remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.

Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Droitwich Lisa Hornberger said: “Today's warrant should serve as a clear reminder that we will act on information from the public and take robust action against those involved in drug production in our town.

“Cannabis cultivation is not a victimless crime, it can be linked to wider criminality and poses real risks, including fire hazards and exploitation.

“We encourage anyone with concerns about drug production or supply to report them so we can continue to act and ensure Droitwich remains a safe place.”
