Three taken to hospital after multi-vehicle crash on M5 in Worcester

A fourth man was assessed and discharged at the scene

Three men have been taken to hospital following a crash involving several vehicles on the M5 in Worcester.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the southbound carriageway of the motorway, near junction 7, at 7.43am on Monday 28th September.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said crews found numerous vehicles involved in the crash and four patients.

"On arrival, crews discovered numerous vehicles that had been involved in the incident and four patients," a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

"Two of the patients, both men, were treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital," a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

"A third man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and was then taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch," a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

"The fourth patient, also a man, was assessed and discharged at the scene," a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

West Mercia Police said officers were called to the crash at 7.40am and that the Highways Agency attended the scene.

"Police were called at 7.40am this morning to a road traffic collision on the M5 at Junction 7. Highways Agency is currently in attendance. It's not believed anyone is seriously injured," West Mercia Police said.
