Litter picks taking place across Herefordshire to get county clean and tidy for spring
Events have been taking place across the county
People across Herefordshire have been working together to clean-up the county so it's ready for the spring.
The work is part of the Great Herefordshire Spring Clean which aims to cut litter, improve public spaces and educate future generations on responsible waste disposal.
Litter picks in Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford have been taking place, with the Hereford Community Clean Up group one of those who have been involved.
Group coordinator Emma Jones says it's vital to keep areas clean and seeing tidy spaces can have a positive impact on people's well-being.
"We see a lot of poor animals injured by litter so cleaning it up is very helpful for the wildlife and in helping the environment.
"You go to a litter filled area that looks very unsightly and you can do a litter pick around it to leave it looking tidier.
"All we want is a tidier environment, it's good for our well-being if we see a tidy place whereas if it's not tidy then we aren't as likely to go back to it."
The Great Herefordshire Spring Clean is running from 21 March-6 April 2025.
