The organisation behind it is also being wound down

Hereford Pride won't be going ahead in 2025, with the organisation behind it also in the process of being wound down.

The team behind the event - due to take place at the city's Rugby Club in August - say it 'hasn't been an easy decision'.

They've blamed the economic climate and difficulties in recruiting and retaining volunteers to help with the organisation.

In a statement released on their social media, Hereford Pride have said:

"All strategic options were explored and the idea of new blood taking on the project were looked into. However after much deliberation nothing could be facilitated. Now more than ever Prides all round the world are vital to giving a voice to LGBTQ plus people so this makes us very sad we've had to come to such a decision. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into the creation of Hereford Pride and that certainly wasn't lost on any one.

"Multiple people were involved in this fantastic organisation at various levels and we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts for making this happen. All the performers all the stall holders and the volunteers. We thank you immensely and you certainly have our unwavering eternal gratitude."
