Gloucestershire man jailed for armed robbery at Herefordshire garage

An armed robber who targeted a garage in Herefordshire has been jailed for more than four years.
Adam Hawkins, 44, of Hazel Road, Drybrook, Gloucestershire, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday 5 August where he was convicted of robbery and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The court heard how Hawkins entered Lea Garage on the A40 on February where he told the shop assistant that he had a gun and demanded the victim give him all the cash or he would come back.
He then fled the scene with more than £1,000 in cash.
Officers tracked Hawkins down and arrested him, and he was later charged in March
Hawkins has now been sentenced to 56 months for the robbery offence, ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge and disqualified from driving for 46 months.
He was also sentenced to 40 months for the imitation firearm offence to run concurrently.
