Worcestershire County Council has announced the sale of its former County Hall site on Spetchley Road in Worcester, aiming to revitalise the 16.6-acre vacant area.

This marks the next phase of plans to repurpose the site, which has been unoccupied since June 2024 due to the identification of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in the building.

The council is collaborating with property specialists Savills to attract potential developers and investors as the site enters the open market.

Councillor Adam Kent, Deputy Leader of Worcestershire County Council, emphasised the importance of selling assets like County Hall, which are no longer needed for council services, as a means to optimise public resources and reduce operational costs.

The site provides a substantial redevelopment opportunity, and interested parties can submit proposals subject to standard planning processes, which include community consultation.

The council is committed to securing the best value for taxpayers while achieving a long-term beneficial outcome for both the site and the local community.
