Former Worcestershire County Councillor confirmed dead

The Council say Councillor Ken Pollock passed away earlier this month.

Worcestershire County Councillor have confirmed former councillor, Ken Pollock, has passed away.

On their website, the Council say Councillor Pollock died on Thursday 4 January.

He had been a County Councillor for Tenbury for 12 years and served as Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure from 2016 up until 2021.

During his time as a Cabinet Member, Ken Pollock helped deliver many improvements to infrastructure across the county that are still in place today. They include dualling the Southern Link Road in Worcester, Worcestershire's Parkway railway station and Kidderminster railway station.

Leader of Worcestershire County Council, Simon Geraghty said today: “We are all deeply saddened on hearing of the passing of our former colleague and friend Ken Pollock.

“He shared my passion for improving the County’s connectivity, including through the Cotswold Line taskforce and Superfast Worcestershire broadband, and developing the skills of the next generation through apprenticeships so his passing is keenly felt at this time.

“Our deepest condolences are conveyed to his family at this most difficult time for them.”
