Fire Engine driver arrested after Worcester City Centre crash
Three pedestrians were injured in the collision
Police have confirmed the driver of a fire engine has been arrested after the emergency vehicle was involved in a crash in Worcester City Centre.
Two pedestrians suffered serious injuries, and a third suffered minor injuries in the collision involving a fire engine and a car on Saturday (25th April).
The fire engine also collided with a building.
West Mercia Police said the driver of the fire engine, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by carless driving.
He has since been released under investigation.
In a statement Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We can confirm that the person arrested following the incident on Saturday evening in Worcester City Centre was the driver of the fire engine.
"We are unable to comment further as there is an ongoing investigation."
