A fun day is taking place today in Worcestershire, in memory of eight year old Joshua Hillstead who tragically drowned in Warwickshire's River Arrow last summer.

The family have since created the Joshua Hillstead Foundation in an aim to teach water safety awareness in schools.

The Foundation will be officially launched today in their mission to become a registered charity.

Joshua's mum, Rebecca Hinde, shared what the family has planned for their day of remembrance.

Ms Hinde said: "We're holding a really big Fun Day with stalls, food vendors and family friendly activities for children to take part in.

"It's going to be a really fun day and I want it to be a big birthday party in celebration of Joshua, who would have turned ten this week."

Ms Hinde continued: "Today is also really important for us to share the work we do with the Joshua Hillstead Foundation, which we set up in his memory.

"We're set to become a registered charity soon, thanks to the overwhelming support we have received so far, and we want to continue on our mission to raising awareness on water safety in schools and community groups."
