A mum and her three sons are set to run today's Worcester half marathon in memory of her late husband and their dad, while also attempting to smash a Guinness World Record.
Alice Braga, also known as Alice Johnston, is a consultant anaesthetist and medical examiner at the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust who lost her partner Rob to cancer in 2016.
Along with her sons Angus, Archie and Ollie, they're to take part in the event to remember him and look to make it the fastest half marathon run by a mother and three children.
The current record, which stands at just over eight hours, eight minutes, was set in Swansea in 2024, and combines all of the four individual official finishing times together to get the overall one.
They've raised over £10,000 for a charity so far, and Alice said the "pretty niche" record they had found has plenty of meaning to them as a family with Rob being a "brilliant" marathon runner.
"I was already aware that it was going to be the 10th anniversary of the death of my husband to cancer back in 2016," she said.
"As with everything we've tried to do as a family since his death, we've tried to be positive and live the life that he couldn't live and take on challenges and do things as a family and remember him in the process.
"He always used to buy the boys a copy of the book of Guinness World Records at Christmas time and they used to love pouring through all the weird and wonderful records, so I thought, let's see if there's anything we can do as a family.
"When I came across this one I couldn't believe it already existed and it was so right for our family."
Thousands of runners are expected in the city for the annual event, which also sees people take on a 10K course.
Staff from the University of Worcester Arena are preparing to take part in bothin support of charity Breakthrough T1Dand to raise more awareness about diabetes.
Brad Hunt and Jess Kearns are doing the 10k with former team member Shannon Hayes, while Meg Lisle and Jack Lambert tackle the longer distance.
Jess' own story is the inspiration behind doing it, which saw her three-year-old daughter diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 10 months old.
"Every day is a struggle for her, every day we have to give her insulin or we have to monitor her blood sugars," Jess said.
"We have to make sure that she's healthy, and for a three-year-old, that's really difficult.
"So if we can take on a little bit of that, it's something to show support for not only her, but for everybody else who is fighting type one diabetes."
The 10K race is set to get underway at 9:15am, with the half marathon due off shortly after at 9:40am.
