A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing following a police raid at a property in Evesham earlier today (Monday, 9 June).

Officers from West Mercia Police executed a warrant at around 6.30am at an address in Gisborne Gardens after acting on intelligence relating to suspected drug activity at the location.

During the search, officers seized approximately £500 in cash, a quantity of suspected Class A drugs – believed to be heroin – as well as multiple mobile phones and weighing scales, all of which are being held as evidence.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police Sergeant Juliet Jeffrey said: “Cash, drugs, multiple mobile phones and weighing scales were seized and a man aged 50 has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs – heroin. He is now helping us with our investigation.

"We hope this operation demonstrates that we take all reports of suspected drug activity seriously and will take decisive action where appropriate.”
