Emma Maxwell appointed as West Mercia Police Assistant Chief Constable
New ACC brings extensive experience to local policing team
West Mercia Police warmly welcomes Emma Maxwell as its new Assistant Chief Constable (ACC), effective from 5th October.
Emma joins the force after an impressive 26-year tenure with Leicestershire Police, taking on the role of lead for Local Policing and Operations.
Her career achievements span Response Policing, Neighbourhood Policing, Specialist Operations, and more, with prominent roles in Contact, Change Management, Corporate Services, and as a Hostage Negotiator.
Emma has graduated from the national PC to Inspector Fast Track programme, held multiple leadership roles, and commands substantial expertise as a Firearms and Public Order Commander.
Passionate about Neighbourhood Policing and partnership work, Emma prioritises community engagement, aiming to ensure policing provides the best possible service to the public.
In her introductory statement, Emma expressed enthusiasm for joining West Mercia Police, highlighting her commitment to backing the force in addressing local challenges and fostering trust and safety.
Emma also holds the Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller portfolio for the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), showcasing her dedication to diversity and inclusion within policing.
Outside her professional role, Emma enjoys time with her family, including two daughters, a German Shepherd, and three horses.
