The organisers of Worcester's Elgar Festival tell us they're already planning for 2027 - following their "best event yet".

Set-up to honour the work of the renowned English composer from Worcestershire, the festival saw over 2500 people enjoying a number of musical performances last month.

Artistic Director Kenneth Woods explained the next steps: "The first couple of months after the festival tying up loose ends and planning the upcoming festival, then we spend a big chunk of the autumn writing funding applications, booking venues, getting things int he diary, and then we start marketing the festival."

The event has quadrupled in size since the event began in 2018.

Woods said: "The music is its own reward.

"It's just so thrilling every year for me as a conductor to get to stand in the place where Elgar himself stood and conducted his music in Worcester Cathedral every year - just awe-inspiring."
