Critical incident declared by Herefordshire NHS Trust
Some non-urgent operations have been postponed
The Wye Valley NHS Trust has declared an internal "critical incident" due to a significant demand for services.
The Trust runs Hereford County Hospital and said today (January 27) that there were "extremely high levels of bed occupancy."
It added that the decision meant it could take "additional stapes to maintain services and cope with pressure."
Some non-urgent operations and appointments have been postponed as a result but urgent treatment and cancer will continue to be prioritised.
People also being urged to only attend A&E for serious incidents and emergencies.
The trust added that people who have had appointments cancelled with be contacted.
