A service for Racial Justice Sunday is being held at a church in Bewdley, Worcestershire, today (9 January) to celebrate diversity and tackle racism.

It started 30 years ago, following the murder of Stephen Lawrence in South London.

The event aims to highlight the importance of racial justice through a range of different cultural experiences and traditions.

Robert Hugh Barbour, who is a minister at St Anne's in Bewdley, says it's an important opportunity for them to celebrate diversity.

"It's vital that everybody has a chance to flourish," he said.

"We should be the organisation that beyond all others that celebrates the diversity of human kind and sadly we don't do so as much as we should.

"We've just had holocaust memorial day which showcases what can happen if society ignores such injustice so it really is an important issue."

The service is set to take place at St Anne’s Church.
