Bromsgrove's minor injury unit is reducing its services this weekend (4th and 5th October) as they get a new patient unit ready.

The unit will be open for a shorter period of time on both days too, opening between 9am and 5pm.

The new facility, which opens at 8am on Monday (6th October), boasts five treatment rooms, a dedicated resuscitation bay, specialist eye injury facilities, and a plaster room.

Bosses say it's aimed at improving patient experience and streamlining care.

Dan Marshall, the Modern Matron and Minor Injury Unit Lead, said, "We’re kindly asking patients from Bromsgrove and surrounding areas to contact NHS 111 if they need advice or treatment for a minor injury this weekend

"NHS 111 can provide expert guidance on the most appropriate service – whether that’s another MIU, a GP, pharmacy, or in some cases, an emergency department."
