Boy riding scooter seriously injured after collision involving van in Redditch

A boy who was riding a scooter has sustained serious injuries after a collision involving a van in Redditch.
Emergency services were called to Church Road in Webheath at around 10:47am this morning (20th July).
The boy received advanced trauma care at the scene before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further emergency care.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find bystanders caring for a boy who had reportedly been riding a scooter when a van collided with him. Ambulance staff assessed the boy and found he had sustained serious injuries.
"He received advanced trauma care on scene before being conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further emergency care.”
