Man threatened with hatchet during bike robbery in Hereford
Two expensive electric bikes were taken during the incident
A man has been threatened with a hatchet following a robbery in Hereford on Thursday night (August 27th).
Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on Hunderton Road at around 11:30pm, after two electric bikes - deemed to beTrek Marlin+ 8 bikes - were taken.
The victim of the attack attempted to intervene, trying to stop the bikes being stolen - but was quickly threatened with a hatchet and told to move away before the bikes were taken.
While the victim sustained no injuries, the bikes remained taken. The suspects are believed to have left the Hunderton area in a SUV, that was being driven with no lights on.
Speaking on the incident, Detective Sergeant Lawrence Smith said: "We are carrying out a number of enquiries, and are keen to hear from anyone who can support our investigation.
We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have doorbell or CCTV footage, which may show the incident or the vehicle involved, or from anyone who may know the whereabouts of the bikes."
