A 16 year old boy has been struck by a car in Hereford, with police investigating it as an attempted GBH incident.

A white Vauxhall is alleged to have mounted the pavement on Edgar Street at around 7.00pm yesterday (Wednesday 9th April).

The boy was a pedestrian there, with a second person moving out of the way before the impact.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 26 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in police custody.

West Mercia Police tell us they believe the driver of the vehicle had been involved in an altercation with the victim's friendship group earlier in the evening.

It's thought they were followed on foot, before a car was used, and deliberately driven onto the kerb.

Detective Sergeant Leah Lowe from Hereford CID said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage in the moments before.

“Given the time of the incident and location – near to The Courtyard on the junction of Moor Street – we believe there will be people who saw what happened and ask they get into contact."
