A woman in her 30s is seriously injured after a collision involving a bus and bicycle in Cheltenham.

Emergency Services were called at around 8:50am this morning to Prestbury Road near the junction with Whaddon Road.

Police say the incident involved a woman who was riding a bicycle and a bus which was being driven by a man.

The cyclist was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with serious injuries before being transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The bus driver was not physically injured and there were no passengers on the bus.

Road closures are in place on Prestbury Road at the junction with Whaddon Road and police say they are expected to remain in place for most of the day.

Officers spoke to witnesses at the scene and would also like to hear from anyone else who has not already spoken to them or who has dashcam footage.
