Woman in her 70s dies after two-vehicle crash in the Forest of Dean

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward

A woman is her 70s has died after a two-vehicle collision on the A4136 in Lydbrook.

Police were called at around 4:55pm on Wednesday afternoon (22nd April) to the MireyStock Crossroads after a report of a collision involving a grey Moto Guzzi motorcycle and a white Nissan dropside lorry.

The passenger of the motorcycle, a woman aged in her 70s, was declared dead at the scene.

Her family has been informed and are being supported by a specially trained officer.

The motorcycle rider, a man also in his 70s, remains in hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan was physically uninjured.

Roads in the area were closed for a collision investigation but have since reopened.

Investigating officers are asking for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
