Woman in her 60s dies following collision in the Forest of Dean

Police appeal for witnesses after fatal crash

A woman in her 60s has died after a collision involving two cars in the Forest of Dean yesterday evening, on 30th December.

Emergency services were called to Whitehall Lane in Rudford at 5.20pm, where they found a blue Ford and a black Kia had been involved in a crash.

The Ford's driver, a woman from Gloucester, was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirm her next of kin have been informed, with specially trained officers offering support.

A man in his 50s from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink and/or drugs. He was later released under investigation to receive treatment for multiple fractures at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.

Parts of the B4215 were closed overnight while investigations were carried out and have since reopened.
