Woman aged in her 90s dies after two-car crash in Stroud

Police have asked for witnesses following the collision earlier in January

A woman in her 90s has died after a crash on the A46 in Pitchcombe near Stroud.

It happened at around 1.35pm on 12th January near the junction with Wades Lane and involved a silver Suzuki Alto and a red Toyota Aygo.

The passenger of the Suzuki, who was from Cheltenham, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment but died two days later on 14th January.

The driver of the Suzuki, a man in his 70s, has since been discharged from hospital, while the driver of the Toyota was assessed at the scene by paramedics and did not require further treatment.

Police attended the crash, and the road was reopened after recovery of the vehicles.

Police appeal for information

Gloucestershire Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
