Woman dies after two-vehicle crash in Stroud

A blue Fiat 500 and a silver Ford Fiesta were involved in the incident

A woman has died after a two-vehicle crash in Stroud.

The incident happened last night (12 June), with emergency services called to the scene on Cainscross Road at around 20.45.

A blue Fiat 500 and a silver Ford Fiesta were involved in the incident.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 46-year-old woman from Tetbury, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where she later died from her injuries.

Her next of kin and the coroner have been informed.

Specialist officers are now supporting the woman's family.

Gloucestershire Police said: "The driver and passenger of the Fiat 500 were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

"The road was closed while collision investigators examined the scene, but has since reopened.

"Officers are now asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage which they believe to be relevant, to speak to police if they have not already done so.

"Anyone with information can contact the Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 492 of 12 June."
