Woman, 90, dies after collision in Stroud

A second woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries

A 90-year-old woman has died after a collision on the A419 near Stroud.

Emergency Services were called to the A419 Ebley Bypass at around 4.40pm on Friday (1 May) after a collision between a blue Honda Jazz and a black Audi A6.

The driver of the Honda, a woman in her 90s from Stroud, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital with serious injures and died on Sunday evening (3 May).

Police say her family are being supported by a specially trained officer.

The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 60s from Monmouthshire, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries and later discharged.

The road was closed while an investigation took place but later reopened.

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
