Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following a car pursuit in Churchdown and the subsequent arrest of two men on suspicion of drug and driving offences.

On Sunday 8th March, around 4pm, officers were alerted to a silver Ford Kuga suspected of being driven without insurance on Pirton Lane.

After failing to stop for the police, a pursuit ensued.

The driver continued along Moselle Drive before he and the passenger exited the vehicle on Andora Way and fled on foot.

Officers pursued and detained both individuals nearby.

The vehicle was then searched, leading Police Dog Ollie and his handler to discover a quantity of drugs inside.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a license, drug driving, failing to stop for a police officer, and possession with intent to supply cannabis.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Both men have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police are now asking anyone who witnessed the chase or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Information can be submitted via the Gloucestershire Police online form.
