Two men have been arrested following a vehicle chase by police through the streets of Cheltenham in the early hours of this morning (Friday 3 October).

Officers had located a Mitsubishi car that was using a suspected cloned number plate on Neville Road in Hester’s Way at around 12.20am.

The driver of the car spotted officers and attempted to speed away from them.

Officers pursued the vehicle, until it was forced to stop at a closed level crossing barrier on Alstone Lane.

Two men, a 19-year-old of no fixed address and a 22-year-old from Birmingham, were both arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and possession of offensive weapons.

They remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
