A shop in Stroud has been ordered to close temporarily following an investigation by police and Trading Standards into the sale of illegal tobacco and vapes.

The Green Shop on the High Street was issued with a two-month closure order on Thursday 24 July.

The shop cannot trade and must remain closed until 23 September 2025.

Solace officer for Stroud, Tanya Wilson, said: “We have worked hard with our partners and Trading Standards to successfully secure this closure order.

“It sends a clear message that the sale of illicit tobacco, cigarettes, and vapes will not be tolerated in our town.

“These products pose significant health risks to people in our communities, undermine legitimate businesses, and are often linked to wider criminal activity. We could encourage anyone with any concerns about issues in the community to report it to us.”
