New Stroud to London coach service offering cheaper travel launches today
Direct route launches with affordable fares and flexible travel options
A new direct coach service connecting Stonehouse, Stroud, Chalford, and Cirencester to London is set to formally launch today (September 8th).
The service, which began trial runs in July, has demonstrated strong demand for more budget-friendly travel options to the capital.
Organised by GoStroud, the service will operate a regular weekday schedule from Tuesday to Thursday.
The coach will depart from Stonehouse at 5:40 AM, followed by stops in Stroud (6:00 AM), Chalford (6:10 AM), and Cirencester (6:20 AM), arriving at West Drayton by 8:15 AM.
Passengers can then connect to the Elizabeth Line to reach London's centre by 9:00 AM.
The return trip will depart West Drayton at 6:15 PM, reaching Stonehouse by 8:30 PM.
Tom and Rebecca MacMillan founded GoStroud to meet local demand for travel options below the cost of existing transportation to London.
A trial conducted in July confirmed interest, prompting the launch of a full service.
The standard day return fare is £30, and one-way tickets range from £20-£25.
Travelling onward across London is capped at £16.30 within TfL Zones 1-6, promising significant annual savings for regular commuters compared with peak rail fares.
The coach is equipped with amenities such as WiFi, USB charging, a toilet, and comfort-friendly seating.
