Forest Green Rovers say Robbie Savage has been offered the manager's job at Peterborough United.
Chairman Dale Vince said Savage had been given permission to speak to the League One club, with the two sides now negotiating the terms.
In a statement Vince said: “We have given Robbie Savage permission to speak to Peterborough.
"He wanted to leave the club for personal reasons, reasons which we understand and respect.
"He’s been offered the job, and we’re now in a negotiation with Peterborough on the terms.
"We wish Robbie the very best.”
Savage is not in Forest Green's dugout for tonight's (Tuesday 29 September) home National League game against Wealdstone.
The club's goalkeeping coach Jonathan Gould will take charge of the team.
Savage, 51, was appointed Forest Green manager in July 2025 and led the club to the National League play-offs last season.
Peterborough sacked manager Luke Williams earlier this month.
