Road closures in Cheltenham town centre have been lifted after a serious collision took place last night (5 December).

The incident happened on Cheltenham High Street shortly after midnight, when a pedestrian was struck by a car. Police were initially called to the scene around 5:10 pm on Friday, 5 December, following a report of the collision.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to Southmead Hospital for treatment to serious injuries and currently remains there.

Road closures had been in place on High Street and Rodney Road, including the junctions for Imperial Square and Albion Street, while emergency services attended the scene. Motorists and pedestrians were advised to avoid the area during that time.

With the roads now reopened, traffic has returned to normal, though authorities continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
