Pride in Gloucestershire introduces ticket system for September festival
The decision comes as funding alone can no longer cover the expenses of sound, staging, security, insurance, and other essential services
Pride in Gloucestershire is adapting to growing costs by introducing a ticket system for this year's Festival of Pride.
Organisers have announced the introduction of Early Bird Festival Passes, priced at £3, for the main celebration set to take place on 12th September.
Additional passes will be released once the Early Bird allocation sells out.
The decision comes as funding alone can no longer cover the expenses of sound, staging, security, insurance, and other essential services needed for the growing event.
Each pass not only grants access to the festival but also directly contributes to its continued operation, ensuring that Pride remains accessible and safe for the LGBTQ+ community in Gloucestershire.
In an effort to maintain inclusivity, the Festival of Pride is launching a Pay It Forward option.
This initiative allows individuals to purchase extra passes to be gifted to community members who may find attending difficult without financial aid.
Pride in Gloucestershire continues to encourage community support, inviting locals to invest in the festival and assist in safeguarding space for inclusivity and visibility for LGBTQ+ individuals.
