Police seek witnesses after teen is sexually assaulted in Cheltenham
Public urged to help identify suspect following incident outside café
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted outside a café in Cheltenham.
The incident took place on Thursday, 14th May at around 8pm on Regent Street.
An unknown man approached the teenager and her friend, requested directions, and then sat beside them, touching the girl's thigh without her consent.
A passer-by subsequently intervened, telling the suspect to leave, noting that he had witnessed the man following girls who appeared distressed earlier that day.
The suspect fled the scene after the intervention.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, aged in his mid to late 20s, with a slim build and messy ginger-toned hair.
He was carrying a brown satchel, wearing a sage green jacket with shoulder pads, and had a mobile phone in a black flip case with a magnetic clasp.
Police investigations have included CCTV inquiries, but officers are appealing for any further footage or information about the suspect.
Despite no additional reports involving individuals matching his description, police are eager to hear from anyone who may have experienced similar incidents.
