Police seek three potential witnesses to serious assault in Gloucester last month

A man has been left with a serious eye injury which requires further treatment.

Police are asking for three potential witnesses to a serious assault in Gloucester to come forward.

It has been reported that a man hit another man in the head which resulted with the victim sustaining a serious eye injury that requires further treatment.

This happened in the Alney Island Nature Reserve car park, which is off the A417 Westgate Street heading in the direction of Over Causeway, between 12.30am and 3am on Tuesday 1 July.

The victim, aged in his 30s, had been stood in the car park when a motorist pulled up in a dark coloured Audi.

A man then got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim. The suspect then drove away.

At the time of the incident there were two other vehicles parked with three people who may have seen what happened, and investigating officers are keen to hear from them.

It has been reported that there was a small white car, with two women who were described as being white and aged in their 20s sat on the roof of the car.

There was also a man of a similar age stood alongside the second vehicle who was of a slim build. No further descriptions have been provided.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
