Police are appealing for witnesses in connection with an incident outside a school on Evenlode Road, Gloucester on Thursday morning.

Officers were initially called at around quarter past eleven after receiving a report that a man armed with a knife was making threats towards another man.

As a precaution, the school activated its lockdown protocol and a large police presence was sent to the area in response to the call. Neighbourhood officers remained in the area afterwards

Police believe that this is linked to an incident that took place shortly beforehand in Evenlode Road. It involved the sighting of a firearm in a vehicle, believed to be a black Renault Clio, that was travelling around the area at the time.

Nobody was injured in either incident and police enquiries are currently ongoing. No arrests have currently been made in connection with either incident.

Police say the incident is believed to be an isolated one and the men involved were not directly connected to the school.

Officers would like anyone who may have seen the car in the area between 10.20am and 11.15am, or who has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact them. They can get in touch by calling them on 101 or through their website, quoting occurrence 53260042985.
