Police arrest man after Cheltenham stabbing
A man had been stabbed in the back in a car park in Rodney Road.
Police have arrested a man following a stabbing in Cheltenham this morning.
Officers were called to a report that a man had been stabbed in a car park just after 6am on Rodney Road.
A man had approached a group of people, some of whom were known to him, as they stood on Regent Street.
He then reportedly chased one of the men towards the car park before stabbing him in the back.
The victim, a man aged in his 20s from Gloucester, suffered three wounds to his back. He remains in a serious but stable condition at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Following a police search of the area, officers arrested a 22-year-old man from Cheltenham on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. The man remains in police custody at this time while enquiries continue.
