Officers investigate possible assault in city centre

Police in Gloucester are appealing for information that might help determine how a man incurred serious injuries in the city's centre.

The investigation began after reports last month indicated that a man in his 40s was found unconscious on Eastgate Street.

The victim suffered a range of injuries, including a bleed on the brain, a fractured skull, and a fractured jaw, necessitating treatment at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Though the injuries suggest a potential assault, the man has no recollection of the events leading up to them.

Police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward, having already reviewed CCTV footage and spoken to several individuals.

The incident presumably occurred between The Cross and Primark around 3.30am on Thursday, 22nd January.

Officers hope for additional witnesses or information that might aid their investigation into this troubling event.
