Police are appealing for witnesses after reports a man sexually assaulted a woman on a bus travelling from Gloucester to Innsworth last month.
It was reported that the woman, who had a portable shopping trolley with her, got on the bus at Gloucester Bus station at around 3.40pm on Friday 24 October and sat in a seat near the front on the bus.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: "A man in the seat next to her then began to grip the woman tightly by the elbow.
"She told him to stop but he continued to do this multiple times and then began to grip her leg tightly, causing her pain and bruising to her skin.
T"he man also attempted to put his hands around the woman’s waist multiple times.
"A passenger who was on the bus asked if the woman was OK and another man, who was also travelling on the bus, told him to stop touching the woman.
"The woman got off the bus in Innsworth and the suspect remained on the bus.
"He was described as being white, in his mid to late 30s and of a slim build with a full beard.
"He was wearing a tweed coat, suede shoes and a black deerstalker style hat. He also had a bag with some cans inside. "
Police say CCTV enquiries are ongoing and investigating officers are now asking anyone who witnessed what happened or knows who the man is to contact them.
