First online community in South West for domestic abuse survivors launched
Fear Free have launched the platform that will support survivors in the South West.
Gloucestershire domestic abuse charity Fear Free have launched the first online community for survivors in the South West.
The online forum, called ‘Connecting You’, will prove a space for people to connect with each other and share their experiences with others to help them heal.
The 24/7 site will allow anyone 18 and over who has experienced domestic abuse to receive support at any time.
The charity say that peer support is a hugely important part of recovery.
They will also host online events where people who use the forum can ask questions and give feedback about the charities services.
The pilot phase of the project will run from the 31st of January until the 31st of March and then will be opened up to the wider community.
CEO of the charity, Debbie Beadle said: “you’re not necessarily having to tell your story or explain what you’ve been through, you’re with people that understand that”.
