Murder investigation underway after suspected stabbing in Gloucester
A man in his 80s has died in hospital after sustaining suspected stab wounds
A murder investigation is underway after man died following a suspected stabbing in Gloucester.
Emergency services were called at around 9pm last night to reports that someone had been injured a property on Alney Terrace.
A man in his 80s, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with suspected stab wounds.
Police say he died from his injuries a short time later and his next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
A man, aged in his 50s and from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.
He remains in police custody.
Gloucestershire Police's major crime team are in the early stages of their investigation.
The force say there will continue to be a police presence in the area throughout the day while enquires take place at the scene.
