Man seriously injured after assault in Gloucester city centre
The incident happened on Eastgate street by The Cross in the early hours of this morning (14 May)
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after an assault in Gloucester city centre this morning (14 May).
Gloucestershire Police were called to Eastgate Street at around 3:40am after a report a man had assaulted after man by The Cross.
The force say the victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A forensic examination of the scene is taking place and officers are carrying out enquires.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information to contact the police.
