Man in hospital after collision with car in Cheltenham

A man has sustained serious injuries and is in hospital after being struck by a car in the St Paul's area of Cheltenham yesterday afternoon.

The collision occurred just after 2pm with police called to St Paul's Road, which involved a pedestrian and a Nissan Micra, which was being driven by a woman.

The vehicle also collided with a parked Mercedes.

The man, aged in his 50s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance. He remains there.

The driver of the Nissan, aged in her 70s, was checked over by paramedics at the scene.

The road was re-opened last night and enquiries are taking place.
