Man in his 50s unconscious after assault in Gloucester city centre
Police seek witnesses after incident near Cross Keys Pub
A man in his 50s was found unconscious following an assault in Gloucester city centre on Saturday night.
The incident took place on Southgate Street near the Cross Keys Pub at around 11.15pm.
Police received a report of an altercation involving three men.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim who was treated by emergency services before being transported to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Prior to the assault, two men reportedly argued with the victim inside the Cross Keys Pub.
Afterward, they followed him outside, where one man allegedly punched the victim, causing him to fall and lose consciousness.
The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 11in tall, with short cropped spiky hair, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
Both men left the area before police arrived.
Officers conducted searches, house-to-house enquiries, reviewed CCTV footage, and spoke to witnesses but are now appealing for further information from the public.
