Man in his 40s dies after crash on A40 near Dowdeswell

Police seek dashcam footage as they investigate fatal collision

A man in his 40s has died following a two-car crash on the A40 in the Cotswolds.

The collision involved a Mini Cooper and a BMW 5 Series and occurred near Dowdeswell at around 3.40pm on 24th February.

Emergency services attended the scene, where the driver of the BMW was found with serious injuries.

Despite efforts from a member of the public and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials confirmed that his family members have been informed and are receiving support from trained officers.

The driver of the Mini, a woman in her 50s, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

She remains in a serious condition.

The road was temporarily closed to allow for investigations, but has since reopened.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the vehicles prior to the incident to contact them.
