A man's been bitten on the arm by a dog in Gloucester - with police looking to trace the owner.

The incident happened on Metz Way, near Coney Hill Rugby Club, at around midday last Tuesday (1st April).

The victim suffered a puncture wound, significant swelling and bruising, which needed hospital treatment.

Two women are reported to have been walking the dog, on a lead, at the time.

One did apologise to the man, but didn't leave any details.

The women are described as:

  • One was 'older'
  • Short grey hair
  • The other believed to be mid 20s
  • Black hair
  • Slim build

The dog is black and white, and the size of a Labrador.

There's now an appeal from Gloucestershire Police for any information into what happened, and for two women to come forward and give their account.

You can contact officers by calling 101, quoting reference number 147 of 2nd April, or use the force website.

Anonymous reports can also be passed on to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
