Man arrested in Gloucester on suspicion of drug supply offences after police operation
Officers seized £100,000 in cash and approximately 1.5kg of class A controlled drugs
A 37-year-old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences.
The arrest followed police warrants at five locations in Barnwood, Tredworth, and the city centre.
Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Serious Organised Crime Unit carried out the searches on Wednesday 11th February, assisted by officers from the Neighbourhood Support Team, the Drone Unit, and Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Officers seized £100,000 in cash, approximately 1.5kg of class A controlled drugs, and several weapons, including crossbows, imitation firearms, and two machetes.
The arrested man remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Sam Martin said: “Taking these drugs and weapons off the streets of Gloucestershire should reassure the community that we endeavour to do everything we can to keep people safe.
“To recover a significant amount of illicit assets is a real blow to those who profit from others’ misery.
“The result of this operation shows that this sort of crime will not be tolerated in Gloucestershire.“
