Man arrested after woman seriously injured in A46 crash near Brockworth

A man has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a crash near Brockworth.

Emergency services were called to a two vehicle collision on the A48 Painswick road involving a white Fiat Doblo Cargo and a yellow Vauxhall Corsa at around 4:40pm yesterday (April 14).

A woman in her 20s sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where she remains.

Police say her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the fiat was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed before being released and taken into police custody.

The man has now been released under investigation while officers continue their enquiries.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who either witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet communicated with the police.
